Star Wars Remote controlled Jawa Sandcrawler in box Picture(s) and Description:

Star

This is the vintage remote controlled Jawa sandcrawler made by Kenner from the original Star Wars film. This is part of my childhood collection and I will be selling a few more items so check my other auctions. I want to start by saying this is by no means mint or perfect but it is in great shape and will make a great addition to a collection. I think this is a hard to find set, especially in the original box. The box is in decent shape. It's not mint by any means but respectable condition with bright graphics, edge wear, some dings and a little gash (pictured on the "R" in "WARS" on box front) and also has the original price stickers. One end has never been opened. The other end has a tape tear and little tears at each corner. One tear is larger than the other (about 2"). There is a very slight concave warp on box top (not bad) and can be seen in the first box photo. I have made the box sound way worse than it appears to me but I am trying to be picky for you. The sandcrawler is in great shape. The door is entact, the ladder is present and the droid elevator is present. 4 of the stickers have come lose but are included. The top opens correctly as well. No broken pieces but the batteries were left inside. When I tried to remove the 9 volt battery, the actual little metal battery connectors were stuck to the battery and were removed with the battery but little viynl part is still entact. There is some dusty residue in the battery compartment but no gooey residue or anything like that. If you wanted to make this work again, maybe the 9 volt connector could be replaced...? I don't know. I don't gaurantee this to work again. The sandcrawler should display beautifully. The remote control's batteries were removed years ago so it should be ok. Minor wear on the remote stickers. Wire is slightly arched but it was like this when new as it is longer than the box. It's not bent just slightly arched. Wire is still smooth. I can't get the battery cover to close and I don't want to force it so, I am going to leave that to new owner. Original instuctions included. There is a edge wear and a few small tears. The back side of the insructions have aged. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. If you need a picture of something specific, let me know. My pictures don't seem to get as big as they should when enlarged and I am not sure how to remedy that. I am no Star Wars expert but was an avid fan and collector from 1977-1983. I also have 100% feedback so bid with confidence. This rare piece is being sold as is and with NO RESERVE! Buyer pays shipping and insurance will be included. Please wait for my invoice to make sure shipping charges are correct. International bidders welcome but item will be sent express mail so it can be tracked. Payment due within 5 days of auction end through Paypal.
